Winners And Losers
In life we soon get used to the fact that there are winners and losers. We like to be on the winning side, but that is not always the case. Too, the truth is, it is not healthy to always be a winner. Losing helps to build our character.
There is one area, though, in which being a loser is not good: spiritual.
In the end, there will be definite winners and losers. God and those with Him will win. Satan and those with him will lose.
Consider these passages.
“And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly” (Rom. 16:20).
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 Jn. 4:4).
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 Jn. 5:4).
“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful” (Rev. 17:14).
The outcome is settled. It is now just a matter of time. At some point the Lord will bring this world to an end and clearly divide the winners from the losers.
There is no excuse for any of us to lose. God has established and revealed the way we can overcome through His Son; His word (Rom. 1:16). We can clearly understand it and live by it (Eph. 3:3, 4). He does not allow anything to confront us that we cannot handle (1 Cor. 10:13). Thus, we are guaranteed to win if we heed His will.
Are you going to be a winner or loser?
