The Bible warns us about those who would dare to sit in the place of God making decrees according to their own wisdom (2 Thes. 2:1-12). This is absolute rebellion toward God and will be punished with everlasting damnation. Any who are deceived by such error will be lost as well.
Sadly, millions of people are caught up in the false religion of Roman Catholicism. It developed over centuries with one departure after another from the original truth of the New Testament. The papacy, veneration of Mary, transubstantiation, and much more evolved over many centuries. Contrary to the claim it is the New Testament church following ancient teaching, holding to apostolic doctrine, Roman Catholicism is corrupt and without authority from God.
