This sermon covers the life of Joseph and Moses from his birth until Israel begins wandering in the desert. These two men were faithful to God under extremely difficult circumstances. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sorely tempted and falsely accused by his master’s wife, and forgotten by the Pharaoh’s butler. Still, he kept his faith in God and was greatly rewarded. Moses had the challenge of confronting a hostile king. Then, even before Israel had left the land of Egypt, he had to deal with their complaints. This was after they saw 10 miracles that proved God was with them. It is a wonder Moses did not give up in complete frustration.
Both Joseph and Moses present us with examples of fidelity to God and man. May we ever strive to measure up to their faithfulness.
